Harsharn Brar

Associate Lawyer

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Harsharn Brar has established her legal career in British Columbia. She earned her Juris Doctor, with Distinction, from Bond University in Queensland, Australia. Prior to attending law school, she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Winnipeg and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba. Harsharn was called to the Bar of British Columbia in October 2022.

Harsharn began her legal career articling with a national law firm, where she continued her practice as an associate. During her time with the firm, she developed a broad litigation practice, representing clients in family law, estate litigation, civil litigation, and residential tenancy disputes. This experience has provided her with a well-rounded understanding of litigation and the different considerations that arise when navigating complex and often highly personal disputes.

Harsharn takes a strategic and client-focused approach to advocacy. She works closely with her clients to understand their circumstances, priorities, and objectives, and develops strategies tailored to the particular issues and needs of each matter. She places a strong emphasis on thorough preparation, clear communication, and effective advocacy. Where appropriate, she works to resolve disputes through negotiation or mediation; where litigation is necessary, she is prepared to advocate firmly for her clients before the court.

In addition to her litigation practice, Harsharn assists clients with a range of estate matters, including the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, representation agreements, and other estate-planning and end-of-life documents. She also assists with probate and estate administration, providing guidance to individuals and families as they navigate the legal and administrative responsibilities that arise following the death of a loved one.

Harsharn is committed to giving back to her community and supporting access to justice. She volunteers with Access Pro Bono, providing legal assistance to individuals who may otherwise face barriers to accessing legal services.

Outside of the office, Harsharn enjoys returning to Winnipeg to spend time with family and friends. She also enjoys travelling and exploring new restaurants.
