Our Traffic Violation Services

Violation tickets are provincial offences issued under British Columbia legislation such as the Motor Vehicle Act. These may include speeding, distracted driving, driving without insurance, and other traffic infractions.

You only have 30 days to dispute your traffic violation, or you will be deemed to have plead guilty.

Violation tickets can result in fines, penalty points, licence suspensions, and increased insurance premiums.

The Superintendent of Motor Vehicles govern the driving records of all individuals who hold a British Columbia driver’s licence.

The Superintendent can impose administrative interventions ranging from early warning letters to lengthy prohibitions from driving.

If the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles determines that your driving record is unsatisfactory, you will receive a Notice of Intent to Prohibit. You have 21 calendar days from the date of this notice to request a review under the Driving Improvement Program.

Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRP) and Administrative Driving Prohibitions (ADP) are administrative sanctions issued under the Motor Vehicle Act in British Columbia.

These prohibitions are implemented to address the serious issue of impaired driving, which poses a significant risk to drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike.

Consequences may include an immediate driving prohibition (3, 7, 30, or 90 days), vehicle impoundment, significant monetary penalties and fees, and mandatory participation in an ignition interlock program.

An ADP may be issued following a criminal impaired driving charge and results in an automatic 90-day driving prohibition.

You only have 7 days to apply for a review of an IRP or ADP, or the prohibition will remain in effect.
